3. In paragraph 9 of the circular
emphasised
desnatch to which I have just referred, I te
the importance of securing
uniformity as far as possible in the
pension legislation of the various
Colonies. This is not only the case as
regards the provisions which deal
particularly with the pensions of
officers with mixed service. It is
desirable
clearly deniskie from all points of view
thet Colonial Governments should adopt,
with only such special variations as may
be imposed by local circumstances the
general system which has been evolved
by careful consideration and by
experience, as that best suited to the
particular conditions of the Colorial
services. Any other course is calculated
to lead not only to confusion and
inconvenience
